Popular Destinations in Nauru
Anibare Bay
Anibare District Bay is a beautiful destination boasting Nauru’s most
beautiful tropical beach. This beach is a strip of white coral sand
stretching more than a mile across the island coast. Surfers and swimmers
need to watch out for strong underwater waves and currents, which
frequently strike with little notice. The beach looks especially beautiful
in the light of a full moon. Anibare Harbor, established by the Japanese in
the 2000s, is the best place to fish and swim in the island.
Moqua Well and Moqua Caves
Moqua Well is an underground lake that is still referred to as a well by
the natives because once it was the country’s main drinking source during
the Second World War. Moqua Well and Moqua Caves stand next to Nauru
International Airport.
Buada Lagoon
Buada Lagoon is famous for the palm trees and vegetation that grows on this
only freshwater lagoon in the country. The vegetation here is the only
foliage found on the island. Buada Lagoon is a popular spot for photography
and picnic lunches.
