Apia
The capital and largest city of Samoa, Apia is located on the central north
coast of Upolu, which is the second largest island in Samoa. This serene
city boasts excellent cultural center, markets, and an assortment of
nightspots and local eateries. Apia offers an exciting introduction to
island life and some beautiful beaches in proximity. Scores of
accommodation options and vicinity to some engrossing natural and
historical attractions make Apia worth a visit.
Savai'i
Savai’i is the largest island in Samoa. The island is an excellent place to
visit for nature lovers. Located in the southeast part of the island near
Salelologa township, the Afu Aau Falls dive down a rock face to a profound
rainforest pool. Pulemelei Mound, located near the Afu Aau Falls, is a
prehistoric pyramid-like structure made of basalt stones. The Alofaaga
Blowholes, located in the southwest part of the island, sprout massive jets
of water into the air. Mount Silisili is the island’s highest peak and is
in the interior part of the island. The Falealupo Rainforest Preserve,
located in the west part of the island, is home to Canopy Walkway, which is
a high-hanging bridge between trees. In the westernmost point of the island
is located the Cape Mulinuu that boasts beaches, palms, and archaeological
sites including Blood Well and the Vai Sua Toto. The crescent-shaped Aganoa
Beach, one of the island’s beautiful beaches, is located on the southeast
coast and is a well-known site for surfing.
Lalomanu
Lalomanu is a village located on the eastern coast of Upolu island in
Samoa. The white sandy seaside of the village is called Lalomanu Beach. It
is one of the most popular beaches in the country with several beach
resorts including Taufua Beach Fales and Litia Sini Beach Resort. Lalomanu
Beach has abundant coral lagoons and offers tourists some of the best views
in Samoa. One can view the uninhabited Nu'utele Island from the beach. In
the village, tourists can enjoy heaps of activities such as sea kayaks and
snorkeling.
