Floro is a westernmost town located in Sogn og Fjordane County, Norway. The town was founded as a port of landing on the island of Florelandet (between Botnafjorden and Solheimsfjorden) by royal decree in 1860. The region serves as a supply base for the petroleum industry after the discovery of petroleum in the North Sea in the 1960s. Floro Church
The church is a main parish church in the Flora Municipality located in Flora. Built in 1882 by Fredrik W. Hvoslef (the bishop), the church's structure was designed by Jacob Wilhelm Nordan (architect). Attached to the church are two vestries, one reserved for babies to be christened and the other the vicar. From the back of the nave two rows of pews have been removed to make space for various exhibits and to provide meeting place for functions like "church coffee".

Sogn og Fjordane Kystmuseet (Sogn og Fjordane Coastal Museum)
Sogn og Fjordane Kystmuseet, Floro, is the first museum building which has been dedicated to fishing. Here are exhibits displaying the models related to 1900s fishing family's home and also as a herring trading post. One can also see here a huge collection of typical coastal boats. Also housed in the museum building is a model showcasing the original oil platform that first pumped the country's oil.

As the town is located on an island it is a great place to explore the scenic beauty of its surroundings via water.
