Vieques National Wildlife Refuge
Vieques National Wildlife Refuge is a part of the Caribbean Islands
National Wildlife Refuge Complex. The refuge includes several ecologically
diverse habitats, namely, mangrove wetlands, beaches, upland forest areas
and coastal lagoons. Sea grass beds and coral reefs can also be found here
alongside endangered animal species like the brown pelican, Antillean
manatee and multiple species of sea turtles.
Fort of Vieques
Locally known as Fortin Conde de Mirasol, the Fort of Vieques is in Isabel
Segunda town. It was built in 1845. Visitors here will find the restored
main building, historical gun, medieval wrought iron cannon, main gate and
an unfinished wall. The fort is listed on the National Register of Historic
Places. The main building houses the Vieques Historic Archive and the
Vieques Museum of Art and History.

warm throughout the year to enjoy the beaches. Peak season is from November
