Tete-a-la-Baleine, also known as Whale Head, was founded in the 19th century. It is one of the three communities on the Lower North Shore where French is spoken. Tete-a-la-Baleine is a part of the Cote-Nord-du-Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent municipality in Quebec. The community was named after an island in the nearby Toutes-Iles archipelago. The Quebec Highway 138 connects the community to the ferry terminal and airport.

Jos Hebert Museum
Jos Hebert Museum is located on the Ile de la Passe. The structure is a replica of Joseph Hebert’s last house. Joseph Hebert is a local hero who became the first mail carrier in 1879. He delivered mail to even the remotest villages. The museum is dedicated to preserving his legacy and honoring his character.
Providence Island and Interpretation Center
Providence Island is accessible by boat tours from Tete-a-la-Baleine community. Visitors can come to the island to see its chapel which was established in 1895.
