Things to do in Winnipeg
Grand Beach
Approximately an hour’s drive from Winnipeg, the Grand Beach is located
near the eastern coast of Lake Winnipeg. The Grand Beach was considered to
be among the best beaches in the world. Visitors can indulge themselves in
various enjoyable activities like cycling, bird-watching, boating, hiking,
kite-boarding and fishing. The beach also hosts public festivals for the
entire family like Grand Marais Family Festival, Canada Day celebrations
and Manitoba Summerfest.
Whiteshell Provincial Park
The Whiteshell Provincial Park is located about an hour and a half’s drive
away from Winnipeg on Highway 44. The park is home to boreal woods,
multiple rivers, bare granite ridges and secluded lakes.
Visitors can come here to be close to nature and go hiking, cycling,
boating, and camping
. They can also explore archeological sites of petroforms on flat granite
ridges.
Oak Hammock Marsh
Oak Hammock Marsh is located 12 miles north of Winnipeg. The green space
constitutes grasslands and surrounding forests. It is a haven for bird
watching enthusiasts, and birds like snow geese, Canada geese, mallards,
and many more can be spotted here.
