Encontro das Aguas:
One of the world's natural wonders, Encontro das Aguas is a must-visit site in Manaus. The point is located at a distance of around 20 kilometers southeast of the city where the dark-colored water of Negro River merges in the water of Solimoes River to form the Amazon. The attractive element of this point is that the two rivers flow together but side-by-side for around six kilometers without mingling. The best time to visit the site is between September and November as during this duration the water levels are low.
Parque Ecologico Janauari:
Located around 45 minutes by boat from Manaus, Parque Ecologico Janauari is a 688-hectare ecological park. The park features an assortment of ecosystems: solid land, alluvial plains, and swampy woodlands. Tourists can take motorboat to explore the complex network of narrow waterways surrounded by lush vegetation ranging from grasses to colossal kapok trees. A lake covered with Victoria Amazonica is one of the major attractions in the park. Victoria Amazonica is a large water lily found only in the Amazon Region. Park is also replete with scores of bird species.
Museum of Northern Man:
Boasting an extensive collection of material on folk traditions and regional culture, Museum of Northern Man is an ethnographic museum of northern Brazil. To show the past and contemporary cultures, the museum features indigenous art, archeological finds, and everyday items.
