Lengwe National Park
Located around 40 miles southwest of Blantyre, Lengwe National Park boasts open decidous forests and lush thickets. The park is home of the reclusive Nyala antelope. Some of the major animal species found in the park are spotted hyena, kudu, leopard, Samango monkey, impala, reedbuck, suni, and Cape buffalo. In addition, bird species found in Lengwe National Park include bee-waters, shrikes, yellow-spotted nicator, and rollers.

Liwonde National Park
Located at distance of around 110 miles from Blantyre, Liwonde National Park is perched on the upper Shire River plain. The park is home to a number of animal species such as buffalo, elephants, antelope, hippopotamus, crocodiles, and a lot of other mammals. In addition, there are over 400 avifauna species found at Liwonde National Park. Visitors can enjoy a stay at any of the sundry lodges located near the entrance gate of the park. These lodges offer drives, walking tours, and boat/canoe trips in the park.

Chichiri Museum
Initially known as the Nyasaland Museum, Chichiri Museum was opened officially in June 1966. There is a vast assortment of exhibits in the museum dealing with the history of Malawi. Some of the major exhibits at Chichiri Museum include early trains of Malawi, military exhibits, Malawi kwacha notes, human evolution exhibits, old fishing and hunting tools, and more.
