Shanghai is one of the four direct-controlled municipalities of China. It is the most populous city in the world. The city is located in the Yangtze River Delta and is a global financial centre, a transport hub and the world's busiest container port. Shanghai emerged on the world map as highly-contested shipping and trading city by both Chinese empire and British East India Company in the 19th century. It is now home to oodles of world-class museums and top-notch art galleries like the Shanghai Museum and the China Art Museum. Shanghai also boasts centuries-old temples, imposing promenade and several visually-appealing parks and gardens.

Shanghai's Promenade - The Bund
The Bund is a captivating promenade located along the Huangpujiang River in Shanghai. It displays a fusion of European ambiance with traditional Chinese sights, an effect marked by its numerous old English and French restaurants, boutique stores, galleries, and offices.
Yu Garden
The mid-16th century Yu Garden is a sum of two gardens built across 20,000 square meters in Shanghai. The older one, named the Outer Garden, was recreated in the 18th century.
