Guadalajara is the capital and largest city of the state of Jalisco and the
seat of the municipality of Guadalajara in Mexico. Nicknamed the ‘Pearl of
the West’, this city is the cultural axis of the country and is believed to
be the birthplace of Mariachi music. It also organizes some internationally
famous cultural events like Guadalajara International Film Festival and
Guadalajara International Book Fair. Guadalajara is also the place to see

Museo Regional de Guadalajara (or Regional Museum of Guadalajara)
Housed in an 18th century educational institution, the Regional
Museum of Guadalajara is a 100-year-old, centrally-located museum in the
city. It features several historically-significant architectural
discoveries that date back to Pre-Columbian era. A star attraction here is
an 800-kilogram meteorite and several Colonial-era artworks.
Zoologico Guadalajara (or Guadalajara Zoo)
The Guadalajara Zoo is one of the largest and most important zoos in Latin
America. Home to many native animals like Mexican wolves, it features some
rare species too like white lions, Bengal tigers and black panthers. The
zoo’s interiors feature a large aquarium, a reptile house and several
birdcages. To top it all, young kids can take a ride in the Safari Masai
Mara, a small fun train that runs through the zoo.
Hospicio Cabanas
The Hospicio Cabanas is one of the oldest and largest hospital complexes in
the Americas. A classic work of Neoclassical architecture, it was built in
early 19th century and features over 20 ornately designed patios. It has
served as an orphanage, a workhouse, and a shelter for the feeble and the
poor since its construction. Hospicio Cabanas features some classic French
and Spanish murals on its insides too.

Summer season (the months from October to December) are the best to book
your flights from Miami to Guadalajara. Book your flights from MIA to GDL
during summers to enjoy maximum daylight that would allow maximum
