Search Airline Tickets to Togiak, Alaska

Togiak (also known as Tuyuryaq in Central Yup'ik language) is a city in Dillingham Census Area, Alaska, United States. It is located at 59°3?33?N 160°22?59?W near Togiak Bay, and lies about 67 miles west of Dillingham. It is best known for Togiak National Wildlife Refuge and is the gateway to Walrus Island Game Sanctuary. Until late 19th century, the older settlement called ‘Old Togiak’ or ‘Togiagamute’ was located across the bay. After a heavy snowfall in 1880 AD, wood-gathering became increasingly difficult there and so the residents settled at a new site on the opposite shore where life was easier.

Togiak is served by Togiak Airport (IATA: TOG). It is a state-owned, public-use airport that offers scheduled flights to Dillingham through PenAir airlines.

Togiak National Wildlife Refuge
Dominated by the Ahklun Mountains in the north and the cold waters of Bristol Bay to the south, Togiak National Wildlife Refuge is the fourth-largest National Wildlife Refuge in the United States. Spread across 4102537 acres, it is home to 48 mammal species including 17 marine species. It is also visited by several species of wild animals and more than 200 species of birds at various times of the year. Also of note are a large number of fish (especially Chinook, salmons, Dolly Varden and rainbow trout) besides seals, sea lions, walrus and whales.
