Tasiujaq is a northern village in Nunavik, in the province of Quebec. Built
on the shores of the Leaf Lake, the region has abundant marine life, seals,
ducks, musk-ox, Atlantic salmon, and many seabirds. The village has low
tide harbour five kilometres away on Rowe Island. The village’s airport,
Tasiujaq Airport is situated a few kilometres south of the village. The
village is at the end destination for the canoeists moving down the Leaf
River.

Tide Observation
Leaf River flows from Lake Minto through the Ungava Peninsula into the Leaf
Bay off the Ungava Bay over 300 miles. Visitors can observe exceptional
record-breaking tides at Leaf lake.

Leaf River Caribou Herd (LRCH) is a migratory forest-tundra ecotype of the
boreal population, subspecies of Rangifer tarandus caribou. Visitors can
observe the extremely rare migratory birds in this region.

Leaf River provides a thriving ecosystem for the marine life. Visitors can
indulge in year-round hunting activities and Arctic char fishing during
summer.
