Things to do in San Luis Potosi
Water Tank
Locally known as Caja del Agua, the landmark water tank is considered to be
emblematic of San Luis Potosi. The historic structure is a neoclassical
monument designed by engraver and painter Jose Guerrero. The water tank was
constructed to supply water from the Spring of Sierra de San Miguelito. The
Caja del Agua is an ornate well preserved circular structure situated in a
lush green space across the street from Jardin Colon. Visitors will find
bronze statues of water boys here
Tangamanga I Park
Inaugurated in 1985, the Tangamanga I Park is among the largest urban parks
in Mexico. The park has multiple sections including playgrounds, sports
fields, and recreational areas. Visitors will find that a lot of locals
come here to exercise, relax and indulge themselves in cultural acivities.
The park has a lively atmosphere where visitors can also enjoy the
occasional exhibitions and outdoor performances.
Laberinto Museum of Arts and Sciences
The Laberinto Museum of Arts and Sciences is situated in the Tangamanga I
Park. It is dedicated to the promotion of technology, art, and science. The
museum features a number of interactive exhibits in its small themed rooms.
The exhibits are focused on the developments in technology and science all
over the globe. The Labertino Museum also houses international artworks, a
3D film presentation and temporary exhibits.
