Colon is the capital of Colon Province in Panama. The city is perched on the Caribbean coast, at the entrance of the Panama Canal. While in Colon, an excellent place to visit for photographers and nature aficionados is Canal Expansion Observation Center. It is a park boasting observation platforms over the canal’s Atlantic locks. Shopping lovers can go for tax-free shopping at the vast Colon Free Trade Zone. For history lovers, there is Fort San Lorenzo, a well-maintained colonial military structure at the mouth of the Chagres River.

San Blas Islands

San Blas Islands of Panama is an archipelago comprising about 365 islands and cays. These islands and cays are located off the north coast of the Isthmus of Panama. San Blas and its nearby areas are haven for ecotourism because of its unspoilt environment. The area is also renowned for sailing, natural beauty, and lack of hurricanes. Some of the notable locations in San Blas Islands are the island village of Carti Sugtupu, the main capital El Porvenir, and Cayos Holandeses and Cayos Limones, both renowned for their crystal-clear waters.
