Comoro Islands
The Comoro Islands is located to the east of Mozambique and north-west of
Madagascar. Comoro Islands are politically segregated between Union of the
Comoros and two territories of France: the region of Mayotte and the
Glorioso Islands, which is a part of the Scattered Islands in the Indian
Ocean. The archipelago is an excellent place to visit for its immaculate
beaches and beautiful corals.
Mamoudzou
Mamoudzou is the capital city Mayotte. Clutters of boats dot the harbour of
the city. Marche Couvert, a market located near the harbour, sells
handicrafts and fresh produce. Some of the local landmarks of Mamoudzou
include Mtsapere Mosque and the 1957 Notre-Dame de Fatima church. There are
several beautiful beaches located nearby among which the most famous are
Trevani and Plage du Phare.
Grande-Terre
The main island of the French overseas region of Mayotte, Grande-Terre is
in the northern Mozambique Channel in the Indian Ocean. The island is
positioned between north-eastern Mozambique and north-western Madagascar.
There are several beautiful beaches in Grand-Terre where tourists can enjoy
nature’s beauty.
