Monrovia
The capital city of the West African country of Liberia, Monrovia is
located on the Atlantic Coast at Cape Mesurado. The city is the cultural,
financial, and political hub of the country. The Saint Paul River flows in
the north of the city and creates the northern boundary of the Bushroad
Island, which can be accessed by crossing the 'New Bridge' from the
downtown Monrovia. Some of the major tourist attractions in Monrovia
include Liberia National Museum, Masonic Temple, and National Hall.
Buchanan
The seaside city of Buchanan is located about three hours by taxi south of
Monrovia. The beautiful beaches of the city are lined-up with swaying palm
trees. Many tourists opt to camp here. In Buchanan, there is also a stretch
of beach bars nestled between the crumbling bamboo shacks along the coast.
Robertsport
Also known as Roberts Port and Robert's Port, Robertsport is a town in
western Liberia, around 16 kilometers from the Sierra Leone border. The
town is named after the first president of Liberia - Joseph Jenkins
Roberts. Robertsport is separated from the mainland by Lake Piso on Cape
Mount peninsula. The town serves as the capital of Grand Cape Mount County
and is located about 50 kilometers north of Monrovia.
