Fitzwilliam Museum
A part of the University of Cambridge, the Fitzwilliam Museum is an antiquities and art museum. Founded in 1816, it is a major museum funded by the Arts Council England. Visitors can access the museum for free and explore the five departments found here. The extensive collection includes Coins and medals, applied arts, paintings, printed books, drawings, antiquities, manuscripts, and more. Artifacts from Greece, Egypt, Rome, Asia and all over Europe are on display here. Art from Titian, Rubens, Picasso, Rembrandt, Monet, Renoir, and more, is featured here.
King's College Chapel
The King’s College Chapel was founded in 1441 by Henry VI. It is an excellent example of English craftsmanship and a part of one of the oldest colleges of Cambridge University. The chapel has beautiful stain glass windows and an elaborate ceiling. The Adoration of the Magi by Rubens hangs in the chapel and is surely the highlight here. The chapel also houses an exhibition on the construction of the chapel with models, pictures and artworks.
Bridge of Sighs
The Bridge of Sighs was built in 1831 and is a part of the grounds of St. John’s College. Designed by Henry Hutchinson, the covered bridge is among the most popular tourist attractions in the city. It is extremely picturesque and can also be spotted on a boat tour. The elegant structure has neo-gothic elements.
