It is a federal government owned property, that served both national and international flights until 2010. Currently the airport operates Interjet that flies to Mexico City and back. The airport ranks as Mexico’s 41st most important airport, handling over 1,30,000 passengers on a yearly basis. It is undergoing expansion to accommodate more traffic and modernize the terminal to deliver enhanced passenger experience.
