San Juan de Ulua Castle (or Castle of San Juan de Ulua)
Made in 16th century, San Juan de Ulua Castle is the last fortress of the Spanish Empire that was later turned into a prison by the local government where prisoners, especially the political dissidents, were subjected to brutal tortures. It is open from Tuesday through Sunday, from 9 am to 5:30 pm and a guided tour here would cost you around 40 Pesos.
Museo Agustin Lara (or Agustin Lara Museum)
Nicknamed ‘the Musician Poet’ and ‘El Flaco de Oro’, Agustin Lara (1897-1970 AD) was a famous music composer and poet of Veracruz. His house has now been turned into a museum known as Museo Agustin Lara that showcases a collection of his remarkable works, photographs, and other related items.
