Rostock is a thousand year old city situated along Warnow river in Germany. It was a prominent member of the Hanseatic League (a commercial and defensive confederation of merchant guilds and their market towns) and its antiquity has ensured it a premier status among all German cities. The same fact can be seen in its architecture, music, cuisines and annual celebrations. It is also worth mentioning that Rostock is home to one of the world’s oldest universities, the University of Rostock (estd: 1419 AD) .
The most prominent attractions here are Kröpeliner-Tor-Vorstadt (which is the first part of the city to be built outside the medieval city walls in 19th century) and St Petri’s Church. Besides, a visitor is also advised to go to the ethnographic museum, Warnemünde Heimatmuseum, to know more about the prevalent lifestyle and customs of the local seamen and fishermen in the city during the eighteenth century.
Laage is a municipality in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is situated on the river Recknitz to the southeast of Rostock.
