Places of Interest in Marseille
MuCEM
MuCEM, the only museum dedicated to the Mediterranean region is situated in Marseille. The museum is considered as a symbol of rebirth of the city. Today it is listed amongst the 50 most visited museums in the world. The MuCEM spreads to an extent that it covers three sites - The J4, the Fort Saint Jean, and the CCR (Centre de Conservation et de Ressources). The J4 is used for displaying large exhibitions of museum. The Fort Saint Jean is a historical monument which has been completely restored. The collection conserved by the MuCEM is housed in the CCR. The collection can be accessed by all - specialists as well as common man.
Villa Mediterranee
The Villa Mediterranee is an eye-catching structure besides MuCEM. The beautiful white monument was constructed in the year 2013 by Stefano Boeri. The structure appears like a cantilever overhanging an ornamental pool. Almost surrounded by sea, the building has several meeting rooms, an auditorium, and exhibition halls. This glass building in itself has emerged as a major highlight in the city.
Marseille le Grand Tour
