Maribor Castle
The Maribor Castle stands in the middle of the city have the most remarkable architecture. It was constructed by the then ruler Friderik III between 1478-83. Initially it was built for defence of the north eastern part of the town wall but later turned into feudal residence. The structure is surrounded by busy squares - Grajski trg, Trg svobode, and trg Generia Maistra. The Regional Museum of Maribor housed within the castle is home to the richest collection of artifacts.

The Old Vine, the Oldest vine in the world
The oldest living specimen on this planet is the Old Vine, the oldest vine in the world, which still bears grapes! Registered in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest vine in the world as it is more than 400 years old, till date it produces nearly 35-55 kg of grapes annually. Various events like Pruning of the Old Vine, St. Martin's Day, and Ceremonial grape harvest of the Old Vine are held in the honor of the Old Vine.

Maribor Cathedral
The Maribor Cathedral stands overlooking the Slomskov trg square. The structure was built in the 12th century in the Romanesque style. After renovation and several additions to the original structure the building depicts the Gothic architecture. The chancel was added in the 14th century while the central church nave belongs to the 15th century. The bell tower is nearly 76 meters high and dates back to 18th century. From here one can capture the picturesque view of the surroundings and entire city.
