Wisconsin State Capitol
Over a hundred years old today, Wisconsin State Capitol is the tallest and most majestic of all buildings in Madison. Its exterior is made of White Bethel Vermont granite that yields it a pristine white appearance. The inside of the dome is characterized by beautiful murals and marble artworks in multiple European languages. Wisconsin State Capitol’s most striking feature is its dome. Completed in 1915, it is flanked by four wings and it tops them by 162 feet. It is important to know that the Capitol’s dome is the only dome made of granite in the United States and is also the largest in the country. It has three observation decks and out of which only one- the lowest deck- is open for public viewing.
Madison Museum of Contemporary Art
The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art is an art museum located in Madison, Wisconsin. It is hallmarked by a three-story glass facade on the corner of State and Henry Streets which also serves as its main staircase. If you prefer arts, there’s no way you could miss this attraction. On its inside, it has a large display of local and international art exhibits belonging to various renowned artists. It also hosts many fun events at different instances of time. Wisconsin Veterans Museum
Established in 1901 AD, the Wisconsin Veterans Museum is dedicated to the soldiers of Wisconsin who have served the nation during different wars. Its highlights include the galleries that showcase the Civil War, Mexican Border campaign and the First and Second World Wars. It also depicts war machineries like aircrafts, a P-51 Mustang from World War II and a Huey helicopter from the Vietnam War, besides some gallantry awards.
