Tower Museum
A museum on local history in Derry, Tower Museum is located in the Union Hall Place. The museum is placed within a historic tower just inside the city walls. Tower Museum puts on display exhibits related to the history of Derry and also boasts an exhibit on a local shipwreck from Spanish Armada. The museum also covers the political conflict that had a severe effect on the history of the city.
St Columb's Cathedral
Built in 1628 and 1633, St Columb's Cathedral was the first post-Reformation church to be built in Britain and Ireland. It is the oldest surviving building in the country. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Columba, who was an Irish monk establishing a Christian settlement in the area.
Guildhall
Originally built in 1890, Guildhall stands just outside the city walls. The fine stained-glass windows of Guildhall were presented by the London Livery companies while the clock tower was based on the model of London's Big Ben. Visitors can also see a historical exhibition on Plantation of Ulster.
