Offering a collection of items dating back to Medieval Era, Seward County Historical Museum is located on the Cedar Street in Liberal. The collection belongs to the year 1541 when Don Francisco Vasquez de Coronado and 36 soldiers entered Southwest Kansas in search of the fabled 'Seven Cities of Gold'. There are also several exhibits used in the settlement of the Kansas Territory during the Wild West Days.

The center also offers a Discovery Center for kids, an educational studio for art classes and workshops, and an art library. The center remains closed on Sunday and Monday.
