Uganda Wildlife Education Centre
Opened in 1952 by the then Colonial Government, Uganda Wildlife Education Centre is an education center offers home to animals which are rescued from poachers, accidents, or illegal trade. Uganda Wildlife Education Centre is located at a distance of around 40 kilometers from Entebbe. There are more than 200 animals representing over 50 different animal species in the center. This center is certainly a bird-lover's paradise and also an excellent place for photography freaks as well.
Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary
Located at a distance of around 23 kilometers from Entebbe, Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is surrounded by the peaceful waters of Lake Victoria. The sanctuary is home to 49 orphaned chimps which are rescued from all over Uganda. Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary offers day trips and overnight trips providing excellent opportunities to observe and interact with these great apes in the unmatched setting.
