Orana Wildlife Park
Orana Wildlife Park is New Zealand's largest wildlife sanctuary and conservation project that features endangered animals from around the world. Ahead of this, the most remarkable part of this park is that the number of fences and cages have been kept at a bare minimum to make it close to a natural habitat and to let the animals feel at as much ease as possible.
Ferrymead Heritage Park
Initially known as the Museum of Science & Industry, the Ferrymead Heritage Park is a recreated Edwardian township and museum with historical themes related to transport. It offers a daily ride in horse carriage and occasional rides in tram and train.
Air Force Museum
Air Force Museum was opened in 1987 before the closure of the Christchurch Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) base. The museum’s collection shows the early days of New Zealand military aviation prior to World War I, the subsequent years until the formation of the RNZAF in 1937 and the RNZAF’s contribution to the war. Also on display are some memorabilia of former enemy forces and an extensive photographic archive.
