Venetian Castle:
The Venetian Castle of Querini is one of the beautiful places to visit in Chora town. The castle is located at the top of the hill. Black stones are used in the construction of the castle displaying the amazing contrasting image of the castle surrounded by the white-walled houses. Tourists can enjoy bird’s eye views of the Cora town from the castle.
Traditional Windmills:
Tourists visiting Astypalaia Island always have been overwhelmed with the scenic beauty of the traditional windmills in the Chora town. There are around nine windmills in the town and are situated on the top of the hill besides houses with white walls and the Byzantine Churches. These windmills have been preserved for their charm and beauty.
Drakos Cave:
Drakos Cave is one of the most beautiful and stunning natural attractions in the Astypalaia Islands. Drakos Cave (Caves of the Dragon) is situated near to the fishing village of Vathi on the Northern side of the Astypalaia. It is assumed that cave was used by pirates to hide their treasures. The place is beautiful, and is well suited for trekking.
