Aguascalientes is the capital and largest city of the central Mexican state of the same name. This five hundred year old city means ‘hot water’ in Spanish and derives its name from the abundance of hot springs in the area. Museo Jose Guadalupe Posada
Jose Posada is considered the founder of modern art in Mexico. This museum is dedicated to him and contains some of his works like Calavera de la Catrina. You would also find a number of extant broadsides that Posada had created for his storybooks and song collections. There are two other galleries devoted to a display of antique engraving equipments.
Feria de San Marcos (or San Marcos Fair)
Feria de San Marcos is the oldest and largest state fair in Mexico that begins annually around mid-April and ends in early May. This fair has a fan-following of millions of people who come here for a casino, bullfighting, cockfighting and a vibrant nightlife. The San Marcos Fair also has nightly fireworks, amusement rides, art, theater, dance, commercial and industrial exhibitions, concerts and rodeos.
