Travelers heading to London for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games should be aware of huge price discrepancies for official Olympic merchandise, according to the BBC.
In a recent survey, consumer watchdog group “Which?” found some stores charging four times as much as others for the same merchandise. The group was shocked to find huge discrepancies between shops located on the same street.
While the Olympic Organizing Committee provides a recommended retail price for all merchandise, individual vendors are not obliged to adhere to it. “Which?” was outraged that such large discrepancies could be found with ease.
The group’s advice to consumers? Shop around.
