Today Virgin America launches non-stop flight from LAX to Cancun, Mexico.
The airline has announced that it will kick off the new route in style, hosting a special episode of VH1’s popular “Top 20 Countdown” from 35,000 feet in the air.
During the flight, host Jim Shearer will be joined in First Class by Grammy-nominated artists the Goo Goo Dolls to discuss the band’s latest album.
The show is also scheduled to feature a cameo appearance from Virgin founder Richard Branson.
The mile-high “Countdown to Cancun” episode will air on VH1 on January 29 at 9:00 am Eastern.
Virgin America will begin offering additional direct service to Cancun from San Francisco on January 20.
