Over the holiday season, thousands of visitors descend on New York City, to skate at Rockefeller Center, and watch the ball drop in Times Square. The Food Bank of NYC, which provides food to 1 in 5 New Yorkers, partners with local businesses to “Go Orange” — the color of hunger awareness — to benefit the Food Bank everywhere from local supermarkets, Barneys and even atop the Empire State Building. Do some good while you have some fun—check out these events below and visit foodbanknyc.org for more!
Eat, Celebrate, Support: Join the Food Bank, Culinary Council Chair Mario Batali and other culinary luminaries on Dec 7 for an evening of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres atop the Empire State Building — all while helping fight hunger.
Check Out Hunger: Fight hunger at your local supermarket! Check the dates for your supermarket — Fairway, ShopRite, Morton Williams and more — and look out for our Check-Out Hunger display at the register.
Jurlique Goes Orange: Through Dec, luxury skin care brand Jurlique will be offering select skin care products to benefit hunger relief. Indulge in their Citrus Collection at a discounted price and a portion of the proceeds will help the Food Bank.
Shop Orange with Tommy Hilfiger: The red, white and blue clothing line is adding orange to its holiday lineup! Look out for the Food Bank display, Nov through Dec, at the register and help the Food Bank while expanding your wardrobe.
Have A Foodie Holiday At Barneys: Starting Nov 16, catch the Food Bank’s new text to donate campaign in Barneys holiday window display featuring caricatures of famous chefs, and inside at Fred Cafe! And be sure to check out the Loomstate bowls benefiting the Food Bank in the housewares department.
