The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) announced plans for a major expansion earlier this week.
The sweeping project calls for $480 million worth of renovations which will add more than 250,000 square feet to the museum and create multiple points of entry.
Fundraising for the project is on track with about 79 percent of the necessary funds already secured, according to museum officials.
Ground is set to break on the project in 2013. Should all go according to plan, the museum revamp should be complete in 2016.
