Qantas Airways is preparing to handle a proposed one-hour strike by over 1,000 of its engineers this Friday.
The Australian Licenses Aircraft Engineers Association called on its members to strike between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Sydney time on May 13 due to issues over pay and conditions.
In a statement, the airline said it is taking steps to ensure that delays stemming from the strike action are minimal.
The union said it has not ruled out further strikes but did not specify a time or duration for future action.
