NYC’s Discovery Times Square Displaying Ancient Dead Sea Scrolls

This blog post was updated on October 18, 2018.

For 10 days, Times Square will be home to some of the rarest and most talked about artifacts in recorded history.

Through January 2, 2012, the Discovery Times Square exhibition space will play host to portions of the Dead Sea Scrolls, 2,000-year-old documents that were first discovered back in 1952.

The ancient scrolls in New York this week feature the oldest known recording of the Ten Commandments, sacred rules that are central to the Judeo-Christian faiths.

The unique exhibit marks the single largest collection of biblical artifacts ever put on display outside of Israel, according the NY Daily News.
