Despite a recent string of contract disputes, it appears the New York City Opera will debut as scheduled on February 12 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Gilman Opera House.
According to a report in the New York Times, the New York City Opera reached a tentative three-year agreement with musicians on Wednesday.
Before word broke of an agreement, it looked like much if not all of the season would be in jeopardy. The contract disputes were just one of many financial obstacles facing the struggling opera company.
Last year, the opera was forced out of its long-time home at the Lincoln Center due to high operation costs.
