Lollapalooza, one of festivals season’s biggest celebrations, is set to rock Chicago this weekend. The star-studded festival kicks off its 20th year (and seventh in Chicago) with a charity gala tonight in Grant Park.
Over the next tree days, more than 270,000 people are expected to converge on the park to jam with the likes of Coldplay, Muse, Cee Lo Green, the Foo Fighters, and Eminem.
Crews are working around the clock Thursday to put the finishing touches on the park as music lovers begin to stream in to the Windy City.
The park will be closed to the public much of the weekend and only accessible to those with tickets to the event. However, tourists hoping to catch a glimpse of Grant Park can still do so between the hours of 7 AM and 10 AM each day. Guided tours of Buckingham Fountain will be available each morning before festivities kick off.
