With construction of London’s Olympic Park running ahead of schedule and still five months separating today and the Opening Ceremonies, officials in London are staying sharp with a variety of test events.
Over the past month, Olympic organizers have held mock games and trial runs to get feedback from athletes, staff, and spectators, according to a Reuters report.
The hope is that all kinks are worked out before the crowds descend upon London and it’s too late to make adjustments.
So far, several test events have run smoothly, though others have resulted in major changes. For example, the PA systems were upgraded throughout the Park after some “spectators” complained they couldn’t fully understand the announcements.
