Whether you love it or hate it, Las Vegas’ “What happens here, stays here” slogan has become part of the American vernacular. Rising from a few Las Vegas commercial spots, the catchphrase has become a pop culture icon.
The slogan was recently honored in New York City by making the Madison Avenue Advertising Walk of Fame, the advertising world’s version of Hollywood and Vine.
Sin City tourism officials were blown away by the recognition, saying it speaks volumes to the iconic advertising campaign that they initially envisioned.
Though Las Vegas was hit hard by the global financial crisis of 2008, recent recovery has led to a rise in visitors for 17 straight months.
