There are delicious things happening every day all over the map, but some are just that much more exciting. These are our picks for the top five food events this month:
January 13 – 16 – Cayman Cookout
The Cayman Cookout brings chefs Eric Ripert, Anthony Bourdain, Jose Andres, Charlie Trotter, Susur Lee, Dennis Cakebread, and many more together to the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman for cooking demonstrations, tastings with the chefs, sommeliers, and Gail Simmons of Food & Wine magazine, and plenty of luxurious meals.
January 15 – 31 – San Francisco Restaurant Week
Dine About Town comes back to San Francisco for its 10th year, and this restaurant week is one of the best in the nation, with more than 100 local restaurants serving three course dinners for $35. For anyone in town on the 12th, the annual launch party serves up food and wine from dozens of local purveyors all at once.
January 21 – 23 – Boston Wine Expo

January 21 – 30 – Kansas City Restaurant Week
Does the phrase “burnt ends” ring a bell? If it does, you’re probably already a fan of Kansas City cuisine. Their second annual Restaurant Week gives you the opportunity to sample some of the local specialties, and 10% of every meal purchased goes to Harvesters, a community food network serving the needy.
January 28 – 30 – Oregon Truffle Festival
It may be a bit brisk in Eugene, Oregon, but it’s more than worth braving the cold for the 6th Annual Oregon Truffle Festival, celebrating the bountiful local treasures by educating the public about the chefs and foragers who find them, and the amazing cuisine that showcases them.
