On the OneTravel blog, we’re always letting our customers know how to make the most out of their trip, from city guides to travel tips and more. But OneTravel also employs hundreds of travel professionals who, as their career would suggest, love to travel. OneTravel employees come from countries across all corners of the world, and are here to share their advice when it comes to maximizing travel to destinations worldwide.
At OneTravel, Ilona is responsible for online marketing, but outside the office, she and her husband Derek are world travelers. Both born in Poland, they met in 1989, but didn’t start dating until 2010 when they met up in Stuttgart, Germany. Because they were both living in different time zones at the time, they came up with a plan to visit every single time zone, since they both loved to travel.
Since then, Ilona and Derek have visited many destinations in the United States including Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Washington, D.C., and, of course, New York, where they live. They’ve also visited numerous international destinations including Dublin, Moscow, Budapest, Amsterdam and Cape Town in South Africa, and they’re interested in sharing their travel experiences with OneTravel customers.
Since they’re always trying to get out of the city, Ilona and Derek have many tips on affordable getaways, like short breaks to Lake Placid in New York and further north to New Hampshire, especially for outdoor activities like camping, hiking and skiing.
In this blog series, Ilona will further elaborate on some of her favorite trips and destinations, sharing advice on how to get the most out of every town and city, experience it like a local and even save a little money along the way, including how to find the biggest wiener schnitzel in Germany, local secrets to the pubs in Ireland and how to get a Visa quickly for travel to Russia.
