Free Admission to Over 100 National Parks Today

The National Parks Service is celebrating the first official day of summer by offering free admission to over 100 parks that normally charge an entrance fee.

The list of participating parks includes some of the nation’s favorites, including the Grand Canyon in Arizona, the Everglades in Florida, the Grand Teton in Wyoming, and the Shenandoah in Virginia.

On a budget but can’t make it out to a park today? No worries, there are a few more fee-free days left in 2011, including Public Lands Day on September 24 and Veterans Day Weekend from November 11-13.
