Valentine’s Day isn’t chocolate and roses for everybody. For some, it’s a painful reminder of past relationships and heartache.
For those people, there is the Museum of Broken Relationships in Zagreb, Croatia. The unique museum in Croatia’s capital houses some 1,000 articles donated by the lovelorn from around the globe.
From old teddy bears to smashed up furniture, each item in the museum is accompanied by an anonymous note from its former owner explaining the significance.
So how does a museum from the broken-hearted fare on love’s biggest day? According to a report from the Seattle Times, the museum actually doubles its attendance figures around Valentine’s Day.
