Foodies of Atlanta, rejoice! The city of Atlanta is finally embracing the food truck craze that is sweeping the nation.
Atlanta’s city council recently voted unanimously to expand the rights of food trucks operating on private property throughout the city.
Under new regulations, Atlanta food trucks will be able to operate on private property in commercial districts from 5 AM to 2 AM each day.
Previously, food trucks were only allowed to gather at pre-planned events like festivals or designated food truck gatherings.
The ruling is a major win for mobile masticators and the city as whole.
The council noted that the decision will not only increase food variety in the city but also the number of jobs available to Atlantans searching for work. According to one councilman, more than 20 food truck operators are already waiting in line to gain permits to sell food in the city.
