A Thanksgiving tradition continues in 2011 with the 85th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
The 2011 parade will feature more than two dozen floats, 11 marching bands, and over 1,600 cheerleaders from around the country.
A slew of high-profile musicians are also slated to perform outside of Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square. 2011 performers include Cee Lo Green, Neil Diamond, Mary J. Blige, and Avril Lavigne.
Those looking to grab a good viewing spot should plan ahead and arrive early. The yearly event has become one of the biggest spectacles on New York City’s busy calendar.
The parade will make its way from a starting point at 77th Street and Central Park West through Columbus Circle before marching down a long stretch of 7th Avenue. The parade kicks off at 9 AM on Thanksgiving Day, November 24.
