For some people, vacation is a chance to relax. They love nothing more than booking cheap flights to go lie on the beach, soak up the sun, and enjoy low-key entertainment. Then there are the others. For them, a vacation is worthless if it doesn’t get their blood pumping and their hearts racing. They crave adventure and excitement. And what better way to get your adrenaline fix than with the world’s long zip line? When it comes to pulse-pounding experiences, you can’t get much more extreme than that. Here’s how you can go on the ride of your life, and experience a vacation you’ll never forget.
Size Does Matter
The United Arab Emirates likes sitting tall in the saddle. The country already proudly boasts the tallest building in the world (the Burj Khalifa, which comes in at a whopping 2,716 feet — that’s 163 stories). And now it’s laying claim to the title of the world’s longest zip line. Located in the Ras Al Kahimah region (roughly an hour and a half north of Dubai), the highly anticipated zip line reaches from the highest mountain in the country. Jebel Jais is 6,000 feet high, making for one heck of a view before you jump on that zip line.

Boldly Go
To be clear, this vacation destination is not for the faint of heart. The launch platform has partially clear floors so you can see just how high up you are (over 60 stories off the ground). Once you get over your vertigo, it’s time to latch on to the zip line. Luckily, there are two side-by-side, so you can bring family or friends along for the trip of a lifetime.
So how long is this much-touted zip line? Well… we can’t answer that. You see, the company behind it is closely guarding the secret of its exact length. We do know that it will be the longest ever, beating out the former record of 72,000 feet. That adds up to over 20 football fields. Despite this impressive length, this zip line still adds up to a relatively short (albeit exhilarating) experience — at 180 MPH, your trip could run about three minutes long.

Sounds like the sort of experience you’ve been jonesing for? Then get ready for the trip of a lifetime. Ras Al Kahimah has plenty to offer tourists besides a record-breaking zip line; it’s home to luxurious resorts and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You can dine in elegant restaurants and explore the rich culture and nightlife of this gorgeous region. Dubai is a mere 90 minutes away, so you can check out the world’s tallest building, if heights are your thing. And the time to travel couldn’t be more perfect; the best months to enjoy the United Arab Emirates are from November to March, when the normally extreme temperatures are a lot milder. The zip line makes its grand debut in December, so what better way to mix things up this holiday season than to take a spin on this record-breaking ride? It promises to be an epic adventure in more ways than one.
Hang on tight, adrenaline junkies! If heart-stopping thrills are your thing, then there are no shortage of cheap flights to get you to the perfect extreme destination!
