A new report from the National Bank of Kuwait says that the entire gulf region should experience an economic boost following Qatar’s 2022 World Cup preparations.
Ahead of the tournament, the host country plans to spend $25 billion on a rail and metro network, $10 billion on a new international airport, and $4 billion on a causeway that will link Qatar with Bahrain.
The report argues that these planned upgrades, along with many others, will help to spur traveler interest in the region and bring in extra spending during and long after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
