A major winter storm that brought travel in much of the Southeast to a standstill is now moving north.
Cities in the Northeast that were hit hardest by a late-December blizzard are once again bracing for travel nightmares as the storm is expected to dump up to a foot of snow in many areas along the I-95 corridor.
As airports in the South like Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport slowly return to normal, many in the Northeast are preparing for the worst.
Several airlines, including Delta, American, Continental, United, and JetBlue are waiving fees for changed flights at airports from Atlanta to New Hampshire.
Snow is expected to move into Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and New York late Tuesday evening before moving north into New England on Wednesday. Officials are warning passengers planning to travel through airports in areas where snow is predicted to check with their airline before departing for the airport.
