Flights Returning to Normal at Lambert Airport in St. Louis Following Friday Tornado

This blog post was updated on January 11, 2022.

Officials at Lambert Airport in St. Louis say they expect about 85 percent of flights to resume Monday after a powerful tornado caused significant damage at the hub on Friday.

Workers scrambled over the weekend to repair busted windows, roofs, and doors throughout the airport.

While the material damage was widespread, only five minor injuries were reported at the airport. Concourse C in Terminal 1 was hit hardest, according to officials. They cautioned that it could take months to completely repair the damage there.

Meanwhile, American Airlines has relocated its operations to Concourse D.

While it is a safe bet that most flights will return to a normal schedule throughout the day, officials continue to urge passengers to check their flight status with individual airlines before leaving for the airport.
