Anyone who’s been to the Big Apple can tell you that navigating your way through the streets of New York City can be exhausting.
And in some of the busiest parts of the city, visitors can be hard-pressed to find a place to catch their breath. But weary tourists can rest easy knowing the city will soon be home to 1,000 new benches.
The steel benches will be installed by the Department of Transportation throughout all five boroughs over the next few weeks.
So where will the benches spring up? Wherever you ask!
The department will first target high-traffic areas and neighborhoods with heavy elderly populations but will also take requests from local business owners and residents.
